I think it is very true.

So, I shall just do my best n even if i can't get what i wanna get, at least i wun have any regrets.

The 100th Post

Dear Readers,

Finally, my 100th blog entries!

For bloggers who update their blogs frequently, putting up the 100th post is really an easy job for them. However, a blogger like me who is hardly updating the blog, 100 isn't just a small number. In fact, it is sth really BIG and SIGNIFICANT! haha...

Let me just write some random sentences to end this entry:

"Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect, it just means you have decided to see beyond the imperfections."
Winning a race is relatively easier than winning it after several failed attempts. Every1 can b successful, but v few of us can still be determined to achieve success when we fail many times.

Every1 dares to win, but v few of us dare to fail.

OBLIGATORY VOLUNTARILY DUTY

Dear Readers,

The above title is not a tongue twister, so you can read it slowly like this: Obligatory.... Voluntarily....Duty.

You may ask: "why is it obligatory and voluntarily? Isn't this a bit of a contradiction?"

Indeed, you are right. My life is full of contradictions.

For example, you think that working as a volunteer in an organisation is meaningful as you can help other ppl while filling your free time. Sounds cool n noble, isnt it?

However, you have got a fixed schedule to do your volunteering work. And then u realised that you cant devote as much time to do the job as b4. So the initially noble task has now become a heavy burden to you.

"Serves you right! Who asks you to be so kaypoh? ", some ppl might say.

"Oh poor thing... Why don't you tell them your prob and try to solve the prob?", some kind-hearted souls might suggest.

Nonetheless, some probs are not as simple as that. Solving them is a complex procedures.

Imagine, if you are the key player in a football team (eg: the only goal keeper in the team), can you just pull out halfway during a match?

What done is done. And you need to do is to pull it through, right?

Oh well, life goes on...

p.s. paiseh.. this entry sounds quite melancholic...mayb it is the aftermath of 3 consecutive lectures which contain a huge amount of info...

SOMETHING ON MY MIND

Dear readers,

I am just wondering, when you are reading this entry now, are you at home, or are you away from your hometown?

I know, it will be a good experience to study abroad as one can learn to lead an independent life, mix with the foreign ppl and study their living and cultures, improve the communication skill (and one might have the chance to learn a new language, eg. welsh), try new food, etc etc...

However, it is not a very good feeling to be homesick, especially you are stressed out due to the amount of work you having. Well, I know i gotta adapt to this situation bcoz i can't go back until the Summer.

Enough crapping, now i shall continue doing my essay while homesick-ing in my little personal space on this foreign land.

A BUSY TUESDAY

Dear readers,

Hi there! How's life every1?

I just had a busy day. I attended 2 neuroscience lectures in the morning, then i gave a presentation during the Infection and Immunity tutorial. I had my lunch fr 12-1pm, and this was followed by a dissecting practical session which stretched fr 1-5pm. Well, this is what i experience almost everyday as a medical student in the university.

Seriously, I need a good break now. Zzzz....

MONDAY BLUE?

Dear readers,

It is monday again and this means tat another week of lectures+tutorials+practicals+assignments has just started. I am currently having a 2-hr break after an interesting lecture which is about the 'international health'. The lecturer presented the topic well and I am quite keen to learn more about the health inequalities which are experienced by more than 50% of the population in the world.

Anyway, it is quite boring if i just carry on talking about the international health issue (or mayb because that i dun have enaf info to write about? hehe...) in this entry. And due to the feedback i got from jas, I decided to embed a short video clip which i received from lav just now:

This clips was produced by the MediaCorp, Singapore to help prevent the SARS pandemic. Quite a funny clip but i think this clip actually served its purpose - to educate ppl how to prevent the spread of SARS.

Hope it helps to de-stress a couple of you.

Love,

W K

TRAFFIC LIGHT

Dear readers,

I just thought about sth and would like to share it with you:

WK's Traffic Light Rule

STOP and think about all the feasible options before you make any decisions;
LOOK at the best option that you have chosen, study its pro and cons; and
GO ahead to take the action once you have made the final decision.

A COMPLETE MAKEOVER

Dear readers,

First of all, thank you for supporting this blog site until now.

I have been having stressful moments due to several stressful events. A stressful event might not drive a person to the verge of breaking down. However, when a person actually experiences a series of stressful events at the same time, he or she might not be able to handle them appropriately. To reduce the high level of stress back to the normal, acceptable level one, the person needs to do something to release the excess amount of stress. There are numerous ways of doing it: jumping around like a monkey, running a marathon, driving as if you are M. Schumacher, crying continuously until your eyes are swollen, singing until you actually increase the level of noise pollution, drawing abstract art pictures, etc etc...

Therefore, I decided to do something to my blog site. First, I thought that I would need to change my previously dull-looking background to sth which looks brighter and 'more cheerful'. Hence, I chose this current background. Second, I need more pictures to make my blog site livelier. Thus, I added the 'Picture of the Day' section which is at the bottom of this page.

Hope you will like the changes made on Yo~~ I AM WEI KANG~~!

A noisy night and a quiet house

It is 1045pm now in Cardiff. It is unusually noisy now due to the firework display which are now held in the Bute Park - which is very near to my house - on the Bonfire Night. From my room, I can now clearly hear people talking as they walk pass my house.

So what the quiet house is about?

2 of my housemates which i usually hang out with are away from Cardiff and both are in Nottingham now. Usually we were the ppl who made the house 'more lively' (=P) but now since they r not in, the house is 'unusually quiet'. Well, i do enjoy the peaceful moment now but sumtimes it is also good to have a low level of 'noise pollution'. =P

I tend to do some reflections when i m alone. N now i m currently thinking sth... It seems tat it has been a long time since i last contacted some of my frens. Also, i did notice some of them have changed - slightly or tremendously.

This entry is quite random. So u might have a random kind of feeling after u read it. Anyway, if u r free...feel free to drop me a msg to update me about ur recent life.

Life is quite dynamic, but there are things which are quite constant too; friendship is one of them.

A brief random update of WK

Long time no blog!

The weather in Caerdydd is getting colder and the workload of my studies is getting heavier. Aren't we supposed to have a good nap in the cold weather? Yeah, perhaps. However, this doesn't apply to me, who is currently a medical student. Oh well, winter break is coming soon and hopefully i can have a good break then.

I just came back from the Welsh Language class. I found that the welsh language is somehow similar to tamil because both languages have many words which require the speakers to twist their tongues. Aih...as a mandarin speaker, I cant really twist my tongue tat well. Mayb this has nth to do with the languages but rather it is due to my inability to twist my tongue. Anyway, i think indians are born with the ability to speak diff languages easily. Don't believe? Try to see how many indians can speak in mandarin and how many chinese can actually speak in tamil. =P

Lastly, let me just show you a random picture of mine. (WARNING: THE FOLLOWING PICTURE MIGHT CAUSE ANY OF YOU EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS.
