Wei Kang Dw I

Shwmae! Sut wyt ti?

Can anybody understand wat i just typed?

Well... it is actually a Welsh sentence. It simply means: Hello! How are you?

I am taking a beginner Welsh language class in my university. Btw, i am currently studying in Cardiff - which is the capital of Wales. And Wales, together with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, form the United Kingdom. Many ppl tend to think that UK is equal to England but this is really a misconception. England is just 1 of the 4 countries which form the United Kingdom.

Anyway, back to the Welsh Language class. Well, it is actually part of my Student Selected Component module. This module actually give us the opportunity to learn sth which is not in the academic syllabus, whether it is clinical or non-clinical in nature. Since i have travelled so far to study in Wales, i think it will b a good idea to learn a bit about her language as well.

I onli had 1 lesson so far so my Welsh vocab is still v limited. B4 i sign off, I wanna tell u all about the meaning of this entry's title. 'Wei kang dw i' actully means 'i m wei kang'.

Another Welsh sentence to end this entry:

'Rwy'n dy garu di, waijing!

(WK signing off...)

wah that is very impressive! coz in my class only 4 students want to take Irish. and a lot more ppl are doing French instead! sometimes i think that people wont show respect to a language if the natives themselves never pay due respect to their language. hmmm
anyway... the welsh flag is actually top white and bottom green...
