Maybe wei kang shouldn't be so lame...

YES! I M LAME... and i think if i dun stop myself from being such a lame person, my 'lame-ness' will b irreversible.

SORRY...

I need to grow up...not physically but mentally...

An eye for an eye?

Today, we had our 1st Colum9's house meeting in the only common area in the house - the kitchen. The meeting was held as a result of the complaint that we received from the residence office. They claimed that the kitchen is 'disgusting' (Haha...I have learnt a new term to describe the kitchen). I must admit that the kitchen was a bit messed up, but I think 'disgusting' is a bit too exagerating.

After the meeting, we cleaned the kitchen and it looked much cleaner and tidier now.

So, wat's this story going to do with the title of this blog?

OK, let's rewind a bit to the time when we had the meeting. After knowing the comment of the residence office about our kitchen, few of my housemates actually got very angry as they thought it was utterly rediculous to demand us to clean our kitchen because the residence office still hasn't repaired the faulty exhaust fan in the kitchen and we haven't got a bigger fridge which can accommodate our food. Therefore, they said we shouldn't do anything b4 the office does their job.

Hm... An eye for an eye?

I think they din really mean it... They just said it coz they were irritated by the complaints.

However, i think it is not necessary to have the 'revenge' feeling in our minds. When we rcv bad treatments from ppl, must we seek for a revenge?

Here's an example:

When A killed B, B's son killed A, then A's son killed B's son... So, in the end, everybody died. What's the point of seeking for a revenge? They just prolonged the vicious cycle.

Let's go back to the current situation:

If we refuse to clean the kitchen, the residence office will fine us and take no action on the faulty exhaust fan. Then we will feel that we have been treated unfairly n lodge a complaint hoping that the residence office will be given a warning by the university... So in the end, the exhaust fan remains in a bad state and both parties are now 'enemies' to each other.

"Causing troubles to other ppl will only cause us more troubles."

Wei Kang Dw I

Shwmae! Sut wyt ti?

Can anybody understand wat i just typed?

Well... it is actually a Welsh sentence. It simply means: Hello! How are you?

I am taking a beginner Welsh language class in my university. Btw, i am currently studying in Cardiff - which is the capital of Wales. And Wales, together with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, form the United Kingdom. Many ppl tend to think that UK is equal to England but this is really a misconception. England is just 1 of the 4 countries which form the United Kingdom.

Anyway, back to the Welsh Language class. Well, it is actually part of my Student Selected Component module. This module actually give us the opportunity to learn sth which is not in the academic syllabus, whether it is clinical or non-clinical in nature. Since i have travelled so far to study in Wales, i think it will b a good idea to learn a bit about her language as well.

I onli had 1 lesson so far so my Welsh vocab is still v limited. B4 i sign off, I wanna tell u all about the meaning of this entry's title. 'Wei kang dw i' actully means 'i m wei kang'.

Another Welsh sentence to end this entry:

'Rwy'n dy garu di, waijing!

I am being Colum9ised

Yes, i am being Colum9ised (pronounced as Colum-nine-ised)... Don't worry if u havent seen this peculiar term... coz it not a std english word...i just made an innovation on the word 'Columised (again, this is not a std eng word) which is invented by Shuly, my fellow 'Columate'. The word 'Colum9ise' actually means 'the action that changes me since the day i move to 9, Colum Road.

So, wat is the evidence of the Colum9isation of Wei Kang?

1. I have an Indian name - RaGu, which is given by my Columates. And together with 3 other Columates i.e. Siu-tee, Nana & Alaghi (all these are jz nicknames, not their real names), we formed the Colum 9's Fantastic 4! haha...sounds v funny rite?

2. I am currently a member of Colum 9's Mamak Club which is co-founded by Siu-tee and me. The entry requirement is v simple - u just need to b able to eat a lot of food. haha... Our daily activity is to have a mamak session fr 2300-2330 (the time can be extended if there is a public demand). We are still recruiting members so u may contact our Miss President, Siu-tee for membership registration.

3. I am becoming more lame now. It is not tat i wanna b a lame person. I just try to make the atmosphere of Colum 9 more cheerful n bearable..haha...I do tell a lot of lame jokes but dun forget: laughter is the best medicine!

4. I have overcome my purple-phobia. Yes, i dun like purple colour. No reason. I just dun like the colour. And the most ironic thing is: all the walls of this house are painted in PURPLE! OMG!
Oh well... I think it will b a lot easier to start to accept this colour rather than shifting to another student house.

Alrite, i think i shall sign off here n start to restore my energy (slping).

Zzzzz....

A car accident

Don't worry, people! I m still in one piece now... it wasnt me who were involved in the car accident...

As you know, i can clearly c the Colum Road, which is a busy road, from my room's window. Just now, a minor car accident occured right in front of my house. 1 car 'kissed' another car while the traffic light turned red. Luckily, no 1 was injured. However, as usual, the 2 drivers came out n sorted out the prob. So, can u guess what happened next?

Both of them smiled at each other when they walked out fr the cars, 1 driver apologised and the other 1 smiled back at him, then they shook their hands, hopped on to their cars, n left... The whole process took place in less than 5 mins.

What will happen if both of them are msians?

MSSCF 's Hi-tea session

Yo~ how's life, boys n gals? (oppss..i think i sound like 1 of my lovely housemates now...)

Well, as u can c fr the pic, MSSCF is the abbreviation of Msian Students' Soc of Cardiff. I put this pic up becoz this entry is related to it.

I went to the hi tea session (well..actually i think it was more like a dinner session coz it was held during dinner time...haha..but anyway, who cares?) last evening. The venue is pretty far from the place where i live so i really had a good exercise by walking to there...

The food served was ok but i think it can still b FURTHER improved... anyway, i m not a person who is fussy bout food...so, i really appreciate the chefs who prepared the meal for us...thank u!

I actually met quite a lot of new frens there, n of coz, i had a good chatting session with all my 'old frens' (well, they r not old lar...juz tat i knew them for quite long d...) who went for this hi tea session. Wow, i really really enjoyed it man!

Hm... i m looking forward for the forthcoming events of MSSCF...n people...remember to drop me a msg, whether u r free or not free...haha... do keep in touch with me ya...

Here are some more pics of my room:

Home Sweet Home

Halor! I m now living in a student house in Colum Road, which is about 5 mins walking distance fr the School of Biosciences (the place where most of my lectures take place). Now, let me show you some pics of my room:

This is the view that you will see once you enter my room. You can see that my study desk is pretty long. I divided the desk into 2 regions: the right hand side is my working station and the left hand side is the place where i display photos, decorative items, etc etc. And of course, a rack which is full of my lecture notes n textbooks. From the window, i can actually part of the Colum Road. And I always look out fr the window when i nd some temporary rest during my work, this is the reason y i put the workstation on the right hand side of the desk. =P

This is my bed. The duvet cover actually matches the colour of the wall.

A closer view on my workstation.

My noticeboard.

And this is me, sitting in front of the desk.

More pics are posted in the next entry...
